Dallas likes the life he has. He’s the proud owner of the donut shop, Honey Cakes, and now owns the home he grew up in White Pine. He thought his life was perfect until Nikko the chipmunk sashayed into his life. Now, Dallas doesn’t know if he wants to push the spunky chipmunk away or make love to him.
Nikko has known since the moment he saw Dallas that he wanted the bear. Nothing, even the grouchiness of the gorgeous bear will keep him from making Dallas his own. But how can Nikko get Dallas to see they belong together?
My Review:
Chipmunk Drizzled in Honey by Jackie Nacht is short, sweet and sexy. From the very beginning we see Dallas as the big, grumpy bear that he really is, even in human form. He is solitary by nature and despite his attraction to Nikko he keeps his distance. And continues to get grumpier and grumpier about that.
Nikko is portrayed perfectly as the hyper little chipmunk that he is in shifter form. He is full of energy, a tad scattered and very lively. And he just can’t stay away from Dallas, no matter how grumpy the bear gets.
There isn’t really any angst in the story to deal with, just a very jealous realization on Dallas’s part that Nikko belongs to him and no one else. Their coming together is fun, passionate and sexy and they quickly move into their happily ever after.
The author did a great job of showing us each of these characters shifter characteristics even when they were in human form. I could feel Dallas’s stress and angst over his feelings towards Nikko from the very beginning. Nikko may be small in shifter form but he is mighty feisty in both forms and I thought it was cute to see these two go head to head. I did think the writing was a bit stiff in some areas but nothing that detracted from my enjoyment of the story.
I highly recommend Chipmunk Drizzled in Honey by Jackie Nacht if you are looking for an hour of sweet and sexy reading!
