My Review:
Love bytes is a wonderful cross between friends to lovers and a shifter/paranormal romance.
Ryder and Tucker are straight best friends. Very human, although they live in a world that knows about shifters and magical folks. One evening of playing basketball ends rather abruptly with both of them being bitten by an unknown creature. Soon after, strange things start happening ranging from fur to sexual attraction and they head out in search of answers. I loved these two characters. They were very different from one another but had an incredibly tight friendship and other than sexual attraction, these two were really made for each other.
This was a story I really did read less for the romance and more for the engaging story line. The pace was brisk enough to keep you on your toes but not so fast that things were left unexplained. I loved their forays into the magical world and their slow realization that they are mates fated to be together forever.
There are several threats that they have to avoid in their quest for answers so there is always a reason to turn the page. I love the secondary characters that the author created, both good and bad. I found myself drawn into the story and really hoping that these two could find a way to stay together for a happily ever after. There is another book in the series and you won’t get everything totally wrapped up at the end of Love Bytes but I can’t wait to see what come in the next installment!
